Splash Fabric

Where Play Meets Durability (and a Splash of Adventure)

From basement beginnings to eco-conscious creations, Splash Fabric is redefining what it means to make “oilcloth” — vibrant, functional, and proudly Made in Seattle.

A Sewing Story Stitched in Community

Splash Fabric’s journey began much like a childhood daydream. Founder and designer first discovered sewing in the sixth grade and quickly found herself crafting everything—from tailored jackets to neighborhood beanbag chairs. Fast forward to 1991: inspired by her first child, she launched IMPWEARkids, sewing reversible, play-ready clothes from her basement during nap times—and they flew off the rack.

Her creative spark wasn't contained to the home; by day, she taught art (and sewing!) in Seattle Public Schools—infusing her entrepreneurial journey with youthful energy and a true maker’s spirit.

Splash Fabric Takes Shape (Literally)

2013 marked a turning point when she stumbled upon laminated cotton—durable, wipeable, and delightfully practical—and began designing tablecloths, aprons, and bags. That discovery blossomed into Splash Fabric in late 2019: a celebration of “magical laminated cotton.”

Along the way, her three sons joined the mission—quite literally—even helping with the “Mask Mission” in 2020. Family has been central to every step of the story.

Built for Life—Tough, Thoughtful, Timeless

“Splash Fabric is made beautifully useful,” with products designed for those who create, cook, craft, and—let’s be honest—make messes. Their unofficial motto? “Make it work!” It’s a nod to problem solving, pragmatism, and the unstoppable spirit of makers everywhere.

Prioritizing eco-friendly principles, the designs steer clear of planned obsolescence. “No planned obsolescence here!” the team affirms. Their matte-finished, non‑toxic oilcloth alternative is unique in today’s market, boasting contemporary, fresh designs that are as gentle on the earth as they are on the eye.

From Seattle Basement to Global Maker Community

Whether it’s tablecloths, bags, or fabric by the yard, everything is produced in Seattle with an earnest dedication—high quality, affordable, and delivered quickly to homes around the world. Splash someone cares—for makers.

Their offerings don’t stop at finished products; they also supply fabric yardage and sewing patterns, inviting customers to be creators in their own right. It’s a beautiful circle of inspiration and making.
