Our Story

Barnett was founded by a harness-maker whose reputation for quality earned us the contract to provide cotton mule collar pads to the US Army.  After WWI, our factory moved from Americus, GA to the bustling city of Macon, GA, where we continued making collar pads, until Uncle Sam called on us to make canvas tents for the US Armed Forces in WWII.  The post-war years brought a boom in new home ownership, and with it, an increased demand for affordable home furnishings.  Our original line of home decor included many of the products we make today: latex foam dining chair pads, rocking chair cushions bar stool pads, and travel pillows.

Our President

In 1981, Barbara left her successful career marketing Rock n Roll albums to help her father expand the family business.  She was tasked with learning every step of production, and uses her knowledge of sewing and construction methods to design new patterns.  After 30 years of making cushions in your choice of corduroy or...more corduroy, Barbara introduced designer fabrics with a woman's insight into home fashions.  Barbara inherited the company in 1990 and took charge as our President.  Shortly thereafter, Barbara realized her father's vision of moving the factory into its current home in the historic Bellevue Mills building in Macon.

Latex Foam Cushions & Textile Home Goods
Our Product Line

Our unique cushions are filled with latex foam fill, because latex foam fill offers premium comfort that lasts longer than other foams, and retains loft better than polyester fiber fill.  Triple-stitched ties and lock-stitched seams assure outstanding durability; our cushions have been known to last many years with daily use.  Machine washable, reversible, and available in over 150 fabric options, Barnett Home Decor offers real life solutions in uncompromising style.
